Tuxedo Sailor Arrow. As a paddle board enthusiast for over 7 years, I have owned over 15 boards including 5 Tuxedo Sailor Arrows. . This board represents the best performing inflatable for the money by a mile. Don't be put off by the crude graphics and arguably silly "Tuxedo Sailor" name. This board is fast and stable at 12'6" x 28". The hydrodynamic design is nothing short of geniuses. The nose has a unique cone shape and is narrow piercing through chop and waves. Rocker is subtle throughout the length of board instead of the typically exaggerated severe nose rocker of most inflatable boards. The result is a faster and more stable performance Also, you'll need to remove the steel clip rings on the side of the board for the shoulder carry accessory straps. Because the proper race stroke demands that the paddle shaft be planted vertical and against the edge of the board, these clip rings should be removed immediately to avoid damage and irritation to an expensive carbon fiber paddle shaft deserving of the performance capability of this board. Unfortunately, the paddle provided is an insult to the capability of this board. Buyer will need a higher quality carbon fiber/fiberglass paddle to realize the potential of this board. The paddle provided is an insult to this board and will go strait to the landfill so why include it? I can't help but feel that a brilliant engineer/enthusiast designed this board and then there was a huge disconnect with the sales/marketing staff. My advise: market and sell this board to enthusiast paddlers, do not include the cheap paddle that will be thrown away. Otherwise, deemphasize the Tuxedo Sailor name as it seems silly for a very serious and capable performance board. Maybe even increase the price and use heat welded seam technology to reduce the weight of an already light board and improve durability. To the Tuxedo Sailor team: treat this board with more respect and honor the pedigree of this phenomenal design. As we we all know, most inflatable board are glorified raft or dock toys. This is a special design that needs to be respected and hopefully will help encourage the future of paddle boarding as a serious sport/fitness training which will benefit the future of this sport.
At the very least, hopefully this board will be continued to be produced.
